Situated between Scarborough and Filey, Cayton Village Caravan Park is a Five Star park offering touring pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes and seasonal pitches for touring caravans. We are open from the 1st March to the 31st October and provide an ideal base for a short break or longer holiday.
The Park consists of the Main Park and The Laurels. On the Main Park we offer grass pitches for tents and caravans and hard standing and hard standing supersite pitches for caravans and motorhomes. Parking is either next to the pitch or in a designated parking space close by. All the pitches have access to 10A electric hook-up and there is water and drainage on the supersite pitches.
On The Laurels we offer hard standing supersite pitches for caravans and motorhomes. All the pitches have 16A electric hook-up, water, drainage, TV hook-up and free WiFi and parking is next to the pitch.
We also buy and sell good quality pre-owned touring caravans. Finance is available through Black Horse Finance and warranties are provided by Leisure Warranties.
The Main Park is predominantly flat, whilst there is a gradual incline on The Laurels.
We have wheelchair accessible toilets and washing facilities, which include a level entry shower room with toilet and wash hand basin (accessed by a Radar key), a level entry toilet with wash hand basin and four shower cubicles with grab rails in three of the main shower blocks.

The nearest main railway station (with bus links) is at Scarborough, less than 4 miles away. Car Parking and Arrival
On entering the Park from the main road (Mill Lane), there is a tarmac car park for up to 9 vehicles and two checking-in lanes for up to 6 touring units. The entrance signs are lit with low level up-lighters and the car park and information board is well lit at night. There are 4 Late Arrival bays in the car park, with access to electric hook-up and water and the area is lit by a light on the top of the hook-up box.
Once checked-in at Reception guests access the Park via a barrier operated by an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system.
There is a short step up in to Reception (23cm/9ins high). The door is 79cm/31ins wide and opens inwards. There are folding chairs in Reception for customers to use and there is a bench outside Reception. The floor surface throughout Reception is short-pile carpet and the area is evenly and well lit with overhead lighting.
The Reception desk is 90cm/35½ins high. Our debit/credit card machine is cordless so can be handed to the customer to complete card transactions.
Once checked-in, a member of staff will be available to take the customer to their pitch and explain where the nearest facilities are on the Park.
We have 39 pitches for tents and 98 for touring units, 25 of which are situated on The Laurels. Assistance with pitching is offered, subject to staff availability.
Pitches are allocated on booking and staff are happy to advise which pitches are suitable for your requirements, e.g. close to the facilities, parking next to pitch, etc.
There are numerous water points, grey waste drains, chemical toilet disposal points, dustbin areas, recycling points and fire points on the park which are well within the required 90m maximum from any pitch.
Toilet & Washing Facilities
There are four shower and toilet blocks on the park, all with a short step at the entrance. Three of the blocks have washing up facilities and two have laundry facilities.
The blocks are well lit with fluorescent tube overhead lights which are set by timers to come on at dusk. There are also emergency lights.
The first toilet/shower block (near reception) has a short step up and a key code pad at 157cm/62ins height at the entrance to both the ladies and the gents facilities. The door opens inwards. In both the ladies and the gents there are three wash basins at a height of 90cm/35½ins with push button taps. There is a step-in shower tray and a control at 129cm/50½ins height. In the gents there are also three urinals, two at 69cm/27½ins height and one at 52cm/20½ins.
The flooring consists of non-slip tiles.
The second toilet/shower block (on the left hand side of the park) has separate entrances for both the ladies and the gents with a short step up and a key code pad at 156cm/61½ins height. The door opens outwards. In the ladies there are four toilet cubicles, four wash basins and four showers, all level entry. One of the showers is fitted with grab handles. There is also a separate cubicle with a wash basin for privacy. The wash basins are at 90cm/35½ins height.
In the gents there are three toilet cubicles (one of which has a separate wash basin), four showers (all level entry), four wash basins and three individual urinals. One of the showers is fitted with grab handles. The wash basins are at 90cm/35¾ins height.
The showers and sinks are operated by push buttons to conserve water. A plastic chair is provided in both the ladies and gents which can be used inside the shower if required.
The flooring consists of non-slip tiles.
In this block, there is a separate disabled toilet with wash hand basin accessed by a key which can be hired at Reception. The entrance door opens outwards and is 81.5cm/32¼ins wide with level entry into the toilet. There is 81cm/32ins transfer space to the right, when facing the toilet.
The toilet height is 46cm/18ins and there are vertical rails either side of the toilet and a horizontal rail on the sidewall adjacent to the toilet. There is a red alarm cord which when pulled will activate a flashing light on the outside wall above the door. The flooring consists of non-slip tiles.
The third toilet/shower block (on the right hand side of the park) has separate entrances for both the ladies and the gents with a short step up and a key code pad at 161cm/63½ins height. The door opens outwards. In the ladies there are 10 toilet cubicles, five wash basins and four showers. There is a 8cm/3ins step into the shower cubicles and the push button control is 1188cm/46¾ins high. All the cubicles have a wooden bench. One of the shower cubicles is larger and is fitted with grab handles. There is also a fold-down baby changing unit attached to one of the walls. The handle is at 139cm/5¾ins and it folds down to a height of 81cm/32ins.
In the gents there are 4 toilet cubicles, four wash basins and four showers. There is an 8cm/3¼ins step into the shower cubicles and the push button control is 1188cm/46¾ins high. All the cubicles have a wooden bench. One of the shower cubicles is larger and is fitted with grab handles.
In this block, there is a separate family bathroom with a full size bath, toilet with grab rails and wash hand basin. The bath is 54cm/21¼ins high and the sink is 72cm/28½ins high. There is a red alarm cord which when pulled will activate a flashing light on the outside wall above the door. The flooring consists of non-slip tiles.
The fourth toilet/shower block (on The Laurels) has separate entrances for both the ladies and the gents with a short step up and key code pad at 156cm/61¼ins height. The door opens outwards. In the ladies there are 10 toilet cubicles, 8 wash basins and four showers. The showers are level entry. One of the showers is fitted with grab handles. There is also a fold-down baby changing unit on the wall above the wash basins. The handle is at 152cm/60ins and it folds down to a height of 114cm/45ins.
In the gents there are 5 toilet cubicles, 8 wash basins and four showers. The showers are level entry and one of them is fitted with grab handles. The urinal trough is set at 61cm/24ins high.
There is a disabled parking bay outside the toilet/shower block on The Laurels where we have the disabled shower/toilet room accessed by a Radar key. Access from the car parking area up to the shower block is up a short sloped gravel path.
In this block, there is a separate shower/toilet room with a wash hand basin access by a Radar key. If the customer does not have a Radar key, there are spare keys in Reception which can be hired for the duration of the customer’s stay. Details of the Radar NKS key are also given to the customer if they are unaware of the scheme. (http://www.radar-shop.org.uk/Detail.aspx?id=0). The flooring is non-slip laminate.
We have three washing up rooms on our park situated in the three larger shower/toilet blocks. The height of the sinks are from 89cm/35ins to 92cm/36ins.
In the second toilet/shower block, there is a laundry room with a small step up (65cm/2 ½ ins). The door opening is 71cm/28ins wide with a half door which opens inwards. There is one top loading washing machine at a height of 91.5cm/36ins and a front loading tumble dryer. The iron is stored at 124.5cm/49ins height and is operated by 20p coins, the slot for which is at 155.5cm/61 ¼ ins height. The adjustable ironing board is stored against the wall and a laundry basket is also provided. The hand wash sink is 90cm/35 ½ ins high.
The flooring consists of non-slip tiles and the room is well lit with fluorescent tube overhead lighting.
In The Laurels toilet/shower block, there is a laundry room with a small step up (14cm/5 ½ ins). The door opening is 79cm/31ins wide with a door which opens inwards. There is one top loading washing machine at a height of 91.5cm/36ins and a front loading tumble dryer. The iron is stored at 142cm/56ins height and is operated by 20p coins, the slot for which is at 148.5cm/58 ½ ins height. The adjustable ironing board is stored against the wall and a laundry basket is also provided. The hand wash sink is 87.5cm/34 ½ ins high.
The flooring is non-slip laminate and the room is well lit with fluorescent tube overhead lighting.
There is a shop next to Reception where you can purchase a basic range of groceries, alcohol, soft drinks, caravan and camping spares and accessories, Calor Gas and Camping Gaz exchange, toys and ice creams etc. There is a short step up into the shop at 23cm/9ins height. The shop counter is set at 84cm/33ins height. A member of staff is always available to serve customers and assist where necessary.
The Park is large and spacious and accessed from the main road by a wide tarmac entrance. The Main Park is planted with mature trees and shrubs which create separate areas and provide sheltered pitches. There are also several flower beds which are planted with bird and insect friendly plants.
The roads around the Park are 335cm/132ins wide and relatively flat, although there is a gradual incline on The Laurels. The roads are mainly constructed from compacted planings.
There is a children’s play area for children aged 18 months to 12 years which has a 122cm/48ins wide entrance. The surface of the play area is grass with bark chippings and safety mats integrated under the play equipment. There are two picnic tables in the play area.
There is a 4 acre Dog Walk where guests can exercise their dogs off the lead. Two dog waste bins are provided in this area and the grass is kept short, with paths mowed between areas where the grass is allowed to grow longer for conservation. A Nature Trail has been created in this area, which includes a Bug Hotel and a Log Cabin for insects.
Next to the Dog Walk, there is a Recreation Field (where dogs are not allowed). A football pitch has been created in this area where the grass is kept short and a maze has been created through the longer grass.
All of our staff receive regular training that includes disability awareness training.
We have qualified First Aiders on the Park and staff available 24 hours a day in case of emergency.
A water bowl is available just outside Reception and the Shop for dogs.
There are dog posts located outside each of the four amenities blocks and another post outside the shop.
All facilities are clearly signposted with signs at each junction point. Clear signage is used throughout the park.
We have an area where a mobility scooter can be charged but every pitch on the Park has access to electric hook-up (10amp on the Main Park and 16amp on The Laurels).
The nearest General Hospital with an A&E unit is in Scarborough, 5 miles away and the nearest Doctor’s surgery is 1½ miles away. Contact details for the Hospital and the surgery are listed on the Information Sheet customers are given on check-in and they are also displayed on the Reception door.
In Reception there is a range of leaflets giving details of local attractions and services, together with bus timetables, the weather forecast, what’s on, church service times, tide times, etc. The Reception staff are happy to give advice regarding the local area.
